You will be picked up in Chiang Khong and welcomed aboard Gypsy. As she casts off downstream toward Pak Tha, take a moment to settle in and watch the riverbanks slip by, unspoiled, quiet, and largely untouched by the outside world. The first stop is Ban Houay Norkhom, home to a Hmong community. Guests who wish to go ashore can visit the village and, on occasion, catch a local musician's performance. Gypsy continues on to a sandbank at Ban Pak Sith, where she will dock for the evening. The crew will serve aperitifs and canapés on deck as the light fades, followed by dinner with open bar.
In the afternoon, you will take part in a cooking class onboard Gypsy. Afterward, you will disembark to visit Ban Baw, a small Khmu village, and observe the local art of weaving. You will then return onboard for lunch as Gypsy continues along the Mekong River. The journey continues to Ban Tone, where you will observe Khmu villagers pounding rice and crafting bamboo baskets by hand. Gypsy will then cruise onward to Ban Khok Kham, where you will dock for the evening, try your hand at fishing, and stay overnight.
Begin your final day cruising toward Ban Baw for breakfast and a local whisky-making demonstration. Explore the sacred Pak Ou Caves via small boat before a gourmet lunch on board. After visiting Wat Dhon Kuhn temple, enjoy a final scenic stretch to Luang Prabang, disembarking at the car ferry by late afternoon.
